Ian Hawthorne
Ian Hawthorn is an artisan box maker and draws his inspiration from Art Deco and early Modern 20th Century designs. He started his business: Hawthorne Crafts, in 2002, and his most renowned box to date is a commission to celebrate HRH Prince William’s marriage to Kate Middleton. Ian has worked to commission for individuals and organisations worldwide, including Russia, Norway, Holland, USA, Mexico, Australia, UK and Ireland. His boxes are on display in galleries throughout Ireland and England. Ian also write articles for UK woodworking magazines on box projects and is currently writing a book on the basics of box making for a leading UK publisher.
Ian trained in French polishing with box maker Andrew Crawford in 2009 and is a member of several woodworking forums and a 3d modelling forum on the Internet.
His boxes range from £100 for ring boxes to over £5000 for larger boxes
