Laura O’Hagan produces sculptural ceramics and mosaics for exterior and interior spaces. Her work includes murals and two or three-dimensional wall mosaics, with a distinctive, bold colour palette and a sense of dynamic energy. Her work is preoccupied with primal and generative forces, and she has a special interest in the representation of dreams and their consequences.
O’Hagan’s work addresses the idea of a universal energy flow that supports life. She aims to reveal the connections between natural forces and phenomena, and the patterns and cycles of a human lifetime. She responds to these themes through the expressive power of mosaic and its fragmentation of light and colour on surface.
O’Hagan is based in Co. Wicklow, where she works mostly to commission.
