Leo Scarff
Leo Scarff produces furniture and lighting with a contemporary, playful aesthetic and a focus on functionality and finish. His practice is influenced by Scandinavian design, following a period spent studying in Finland, and later, working at the renowned Norwegian Stokke furniture company.
Scarff’s light fittings are made from a range of materials including bamboo, birch, and walnut. Recent work includes the Tile pendant, and the Interweave series of shades, woven from maple veneers. His current furniture collection includes the colourful Hiberform series, featuring the Crossline cabinet made from lacquered mdf. Scarff’s Glow coffee tables and side tables are made in birch ply with opal glass and electic fittings. These tables feature the combined utility of a table, storage unit and light.
Leo Scarff graduated from the Dublin Institute of Technology in 1994 with an advanced Diploma in Environmental Design, Furniture Design and Materials Research. He is currently based in Manorhamilton, Co.Leitrim.
