Suaimhneas rocking chair and footstool by Joseph Walsh with assistance from Alex Unger and Ronan O’Brien. Originally developed for the Inchydoney Lodge Hotel, Clonakilty, West Cork, this sculptural piece is composed from 52 individually shaped components. There are subtle differences in the detail and finish of each piece. The piece was hand finished by spokeshave plane and cabinet scraped to a final finish. Suaimhneas is an Irish word meaning “to be content”.
