Cone of Colour, 2008
Cone of colour, was exhibited at SOFA, Chicago in November 2008. It is made from burr elm decorated with blue pearl ink and dyed peaks. The piece is turned on a lathe into a cone shape and a small bowl is turned in the top of the piece which is then textured using a knife cutting burr on a power carver. It is then oiled, polished and painted with galactic blue pearlescent ink, the peeks are then placed. The artist’s insignia is marked in silver EK.
