New designs for knives in the making. There are no handles applied. These items constitute many months of research and development in terms of production and finish. Water jet cutting and hand techniques for shaping and finishing.

Oyster knife

This design sets out to challenge the traditional Schuker Blade or Oyster Knife. Water jet cutting and hand techniques shape and finish the steel and traditional wood working techniques are used in the Irish walnut handle.

Galaxy Platter

Made from ripple sycamore, flamed beech, walnut, dyed black sycamore veneer, white Sycamore veneer, using traditional wood working techniques. Finished with organic waxes.

Chaïm Factor

Chaïm Factor creates genuinely original furniture and objects – both functional and artistic. He often pushes materials to their limits. He has contributed to many projects of distinction including Dublin’s Trinity College, the Senate Buildings, the National concert Hall Organ Case, the Four Courts and St. Mary’s Church Dublin to name but a few.

His contemporary tabletop and kitchenware ranges explore materials to optimum effect, contrasting line, grains and colors – and occasionally accentuating with inlay details. The Design Elegance for Foodies collection, brings contemporary design through traditional materials and application, to compliment the best table settings.

Coupled with a mantra of  ‘Simplicity is the Essence’ , this applied philosophy has provided a fascinating career of exploration, not just through practical application, but with a continuous search for solutions, creatively motivated and design driven.
